New Augmented Reality Graphics for Judo Grand SlamApril 10, 2023

Once more, wTVision's technology played a crucial role in providing the International Judo Federation (IJF) with augmented reality and broadcast graphics during the Antalya Grand Slam 2023, in Turkey.

With a long-standing partnership, wTVision and IJF have explored how to optimize space, data, and broadcast design to capture the sport's passion at every round. At this year's Antalya Grand Slam, wTVision and IJF collaborated to create a unique live broadcast with newly updated AR graphics.

Real-time data and broadcast graphics were made possible by the JudoStats CG and R³ Space Engine rendering engine. JudoStats CG seamlessly integrated official data in real time with the help of on-site specialists to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of every piece of information. This software stack is used for every IJF's Grand Prix.

In addition, the Augmented Reality graphics setup relied on the same combination of software (JudoStats CG and R³ Space Engine) and a tracking system provided by StYpe. This allowed for real-time data such as statistics, player info, and performance data to be incorporated into the AR graphics, creating an immersive and interactive environment.

wTVision has been working on several projects involving augmented reality graphics for indoor sports, adding awe and spectacle to closed arenas. The broadcast design team was also involved in the project, adapting the concept and broadcast graphics to an AR solution with an aesthetically pleasing composition.
