Interactivity in entertainment shows: El Grand Dictat caseMay 13, 2015

Thinking in interactivity in TV entertainment programs, wTVision is always at the forefront of technology. wTVision is working together with Triacom for a TV contest El Grand Dictat, broadcasted by TV3, a word game where participants are challenged to write words correctly and get points for it. Triacom requested wTVision’s support to bring a new level of interactivity to this show, by integrating its Studio CG  with an application in spectators' mobile devices and giving them this way the possibility to participate in the show during the broadcast. wTVision was behind all the TV show graphics operation and has also developed a new wpf application to integrate with Studio CG, allowing viewers at home to start playing from the same time the game starts. How does it works? wTVision developed an add-on to integrate with Studio CG, that during the post production of the recorded show, imports the videos and provides the operator the possibility to tag each “game” timecode in the video. With the timecodes setted, the application allows the export all tags to an web server which stores the information for the already post produced shows. After that “backstage work”, one operator is at the control room during the show’s broadcast to control the synchronization of the app with the pre recorded show, using for that the Studio CG. At the same time the viewers’ answers are being received, the software accesses the database and provide informations like percentages of correct answers or “players that didn't fail any word”, transforming it in graphics played out by the operator. wTVision’s software is very flexible and makes possible to develop all kind of key features a TV Show project requires. Some examples: voting systems, real-time SMS services, timers, buzzers and light controls. wTVision already produced more than 100 different TV shows.
